  45. ChLib Official Browser is a copyrighted freeware: it means that you can
  46. use it freely, spread it freely, but you CANNOT modify it.

  56. CHLIB official browser is a little program, so does not require a big computer
  57. to run. You need only a 386, with about 400k of base memory free, and a VGA
  58. video card. Someone asked me why I don't release a browser version that works
  59. also on 286, or 8086. I think that it is useless, becuase there are very few
  60. games listed in ChLib that can be played on a 286. So, even if I release a 286
  61. version, which cheat could you use?

  71. Once you have started the browser, you will see a list of all the game that
  72. have one or more cheats. Look through the list with the [CrsUp], [CrsDwn],
  73. [PagUp] and [PagDn] keys. If you want to skip directly to one cheat, press a
  74. letter and Chlib will show you the first game whose name starts with that
  75. *MOD*| letter; you can also continue typing the second letter, the third, ecc.
  76. to skip fastly to the game. Some voices in the list are shown in red: these are
  77. the game whose cheats are been modified since the last update. When you have
  78. highlighted the game you wish, press [Enter]. A menu will appear with all the
  79. categories of tricks of that game. When you have chosen one category, the text
  80. of the trick will appear. You can scroll the text with the usual keys.
  81. Moreover, you can output the text to a file by pressing the [O] key. The name
  82. of the output file is "cheat000.txt". If this file already exists, the name
  83. will be "cheat001.txt" and so on. You can go back to the menu by pressing
  84. [Esc].

  93. In the moment I release this version, I know that the program is bugged. The
  94. first and most important problem is that the VGA mode I use in ChLib (50 rows)
  95. doesn't work on some old VGA graphics cards. There are other small bugs, but
  96. you should not see any one (they are very very small).
